Since 2013, Emmanuel Hospice has been a community partner of Clark. Emmanuel Hospice knows it is a difficult time and a challenging subject to talk about. That’s why they emphasize the importance of starting a conversation to understand the meaning of hospice, when it’s time, what to expect and what makes Emmanuel Hospice different.

What is Hospice? 

Hospice is holistic care and support for people who have been given a physician prognosis of six months or less to live. Because a person’s last moments are so important, Emmanuel Hospice focuses not only on comfort, but also creating unique and joyful memories.

Where is Hospice service provided? 

Emmanuel Hospice provides care wherever your loved one calls home: in their house, at your home, in assisted living, memory care or any other place of residence.

What makes Emmanuel Hospice different? 

Since 2013, founding Executive Director Sara Lowe has been a passionate advocate for end-of-life care. Working together to maximize physical comfort through symptom management and pain control, Emmanuel’s goal is to also address the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of each individual. Unique, individualized therapies break the traditional norms, such as massage therapy, acupuncture, music therapy, essential oils, companionship, journaling, pet therapy, virtual reality, memory care kits and “make-a-wish” experiences when possible.

“Working at Emmanuel is more than just a job”, says Lowe. “Staff truly understand we have one chance to make a difference in how people experience end of life.
